Anti-Bullying Week

17-21 November 2008

Anti-Bullying Week is one of the most important weeks in our sector. It is a time when all anti-bullying organisations get together to raise awareness of bullying as an issue in our society, under the umbrella of the Anti-Bullying Alliance.

Beatbullying runs a themed campaign each year with specially designed resources for teachers and young people. Last year, in 2007, we ran our most successful campaign yet in conjunction with Shaun the Sheep. We were inundated with requests for updates about Shaun's appearance in the run up to anti-bullying week - clearly young people just couldn't wait!

November 2007 also saw the launch of our YouTube channel, which has been a great success with over 250,000 video views to date. It brings comprehensive advice and support to young users all over the world and extends our reach online significantly.

Providing free online learning resources is, of course, a significant part of Beatbullying's involvement in ABW. The other element is that of fundraising. Each year, we sell blue bands into schools and workplaces to raise funds for Beatbullying and in turn, schools make the sale of blue bands a fundraising mechanism for themselves. If you'd like to find out more about this, call Peter on 0208 768 1010.
