Beatbullying works with many young people that suffer the indignity and trauma of homophobic bullying. Young people who are questioning their sexuality or identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered are often the targets of pernicious harassment and bullying behaviours from their peers. Our LGBT programme has been setup to address the issue and to provide both offline and online support to young people via the CyberMentors programme.
Comic Relief has provided funding for this innovative programme. The LGBT practice team and dedicated LGBT counsellors work with LGBT youth organisations training young people as mentors both offline in their communities and online as LGBT CyberMentors.
This new programme is in partnership building stage at the moment; if you or your organisation would like to get involved, please email laurienne.buhinja@beatbullying.org
