Awards for Volunteers
Abi trained as a Senor CyberMentor in May 2010 and quickly became an important presence on CyberMentors. Abi wanted to help young people who are facing bullying and discrimination in their everyday lives to stand up and speak out. In her first 3 months on CyberMentors Abi clocked up over 180 hours online which is an outstanding achievement, but even more incredible when you realise during this time she was taking her final year University.
The young people on the site love Abi as she spends a lot of time trying to take their minds off the issues they are receiving support for by playing games with them in the chat room and talking about their favourite celebs. However, Abi also spends a lot of time dealing with more serious issues varying from incidents of bullying to family problems.
Abi has now graduated from University and has started working in a Primary School. With all of this experience behind her we are sure that she is an amazing teacher and luckily for CyberMentors she has promised she'll still be logging in to support the young people that come to CyberMentors for help.
